Yoxford is only a ten-minute drive from the Dunwich coast and heath, 8 miles from Snape, 12 miles from Aldeburgh and 10 miles from Southwold. The village has two pubs, two restaurants, a post office/delicatessen, antique shops and a general store, all withing easy walking distance.
Guests can enjoy an unrivalled variety of local arts
activities, events and entertainment including the
Yoxford Arts Festival each August, and the annual
Aldeburgh Festival. For the more energetic, in
addition to the coast and beaches, there are many
attractive countryside walks and cycle routes. Cycle Route 1 passes through Yoxford village.
There are golf courses at Aldeburgh, Halesworth, Southwold, and Darsham (see details for High Lodge, below).
Guests can also enjoy birdwatching at Minsmere
Nature Reserve and a host of other sporting and

Dunwich Museum – excellent display and explanation of the decline of the former great town and sea port.
Easton Farm Park – close to the towns of Framlingham and Wickham Market this educational project tells children and families about life on the farm.
Framlingham Castle – historic ruins provide
worthwhile outing for families.
High Lodge, Hinton, near Darsham - a sporting, leisure and hospitality centre set in 100 acres. There is a top-rated shooting ground, a shooting school, fishing lakes and a 9-hole golf course. Website: www.highlodge.co.uk

Long Shop Museum, Leiston – fascinating collection of steam engines and other agricultural equipment. Steaming days in summer.
Orford – attractive coastal village with well--preserved castle, interesting small shops and nearby Orford Ness nature reserve.

Suffolk Horse Museum, Woodbridge – insight into history of the Suffolk Punch breed and home of the Suffolk Horse Society which promotes the breeding and preservation of this once important farm working horse.

Woodbridge harbour and tide mill with nearby Anglo-Saxon burial site and exhibition centre belonging to the National Trust at Sutton Hoo
